Or would you rush to church right past him,

...Or perhaps you would crusade to persecute him, insisting your 'church' stay in pow'r?
Would you demonize his mission or take it to alter?
And can you bear to see him seated,
sitting right beside them all?
Next to none other than the ones who cause you the very worst of your appall?
Could you stand to see him dancing with the specific sinners you do not like?
He invites your en'mies to your table, just for you to honor them?!
Praying and sharing lunch and calling them 'friends'!?
Then trekking hills & valleys, and stopping at wells
with those who most of all disgust you, deserve a proper hell?
Jesus, Maligned Messiah, Jesus, Misdiagnosed Freak, Jesus Man of Sorrows, Jesus Friend of Sinners,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus....in this life like a game show of guile
Will you please separate yourself from the imposters who impersonate you most vile?
Like upon To Tell the Truth, a show of age old origin,
Will you show us here and now, once more, who you are again?!
